When I was pregnant with my daughter I had two 5-inch thick pregnancy books, supplemental materials on natural birth and I spent hours reading information online. I took some classes that were offered at the hospital as well and I felt that I was sufficiently educated and prepared; however, as my due date got closer, I was overwhelmed. I felt that the important information on labor, breastfeeding and newborn care was mixed in with other interesting, but what seemed like "extra" information at the time and got a little anxious.

The book that accompanies these DVDs is less than an inch thick! This means that you can easily pop it in your purse to read in the waiting room and it has all of the information from the DVDs, plus a little extra information tucked into a portable version of the Childbirth DVD. It is clearly organized and has good illustrations and diagrams to help support the text. I would definitely recommend this book and the DVDs to anyone expecting or trying to conceive and plan on watching them again when we get pregnant with our second baby!
